Chance Cornuth wins WPT Choctaw

Chance Cornuth wins WPT Choctaw Main Event and gives up 5 per cent of his money to the dealer

Chance Cornuth has won three WSOP gold bracelets and racked up more than 10 million in prize money. His goal is to become a WPT champion in 2022 and he has achieved it in just six months. But in addition to playing well, it helped the man cope with his problems.

First WPT title for Kornuth

The WPT Choctaw main event was held from May 13-26 at the Durant Las Vegas gaming house. The starting amount for this game was $3,800. The final was held at the HyperX Esports Arena.

The gambling event was able to attract more than seven hundred entrants for 2 initial flings. Kornuth made it to the final table with 60 BB. His opponents at the 6-seat table were just two famous poker players, K. Foxen and D. Mackie.

At HU, Cornuth played against Buckner. It is worth saying that Buckner has been playing poker for over 17 years, but the WTP brought him the biggest win of $320,000.  It’s worth noting that the game started with 115 BBs against 40 BBs in Kornuth’s favour. The match consisted of over a hundred hands, during which Cornut gave away the lead and fell to 5B. But he still managed to win the tournament after 20 hands.

The prize money Cornut was able to win for the lead was $486,000, his opponent took away $320,000.

Chance Cornuth at the WPT Choctaw gave up 5% of his skid to the dealer

Why did Cornnut pay out $24,330 to the dealer?

Randy Gordon could be seen in Cornuth’s winning picture. As it turns out, he is neither a family member nor a friend of the champion. He is the croupier who dealt the Day 1A cards at WPT Choctaw before taking a seat at the poker table in the tournament.

But Randy’s losing story isn’t so sad, as his life hangs in the balance due to bone marrow cancer. Surgery is expensive and treatment can take more than 6 months. After Kornuth found out Randy’s story, he decided to help him and sent him a message saying that if he won, he would present him with 1% of his winnings. After Randy won, Chance kept his promise, but a day later he announced another happy news, that some people wanted to add another 4% to the present. This money should not only be enough to move from Vegas, but also to live in Houston.
